Efua Prah is a recent Loyola Univerity Chicago graduate who has a passion for life long learning and psychology. She has worked as a tutor at GirlForward a non-profit tutoring and mentoring agency made for girls like herself who are first-generation immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers while she lived in Chicago, Illinois. Her experience tutoring the girls who participated in GirlForward helped her realize her love of teaching and helping students understand difficult areas within their education. Now living in Houston, Texas, Efua is currently training to become a secondary certified social studies teacher. Her teaching philosophy is that students learn best when they can culturally relate to what is being taught to them so they have an active role in what they are learning.
