A current graduate student of social work, I have a passion for helping people. I am especially interested in using fun and humor to help young people become the best version of themselves. Before making the decision to pursue my master’s degree, I served as the Director of Youth and Family Services at the Gordon Jewish Community Center (GJCC) for five years. In this position I oversaw all school aged programming for the center. My main responsibilities were the after school program and Camp Davis, an eight-week summer day camp serving 150 campers each week. As Director, I was responsible for all elements of camp operations including curriculum development, scheduling, as well as hiring and supervising all staff. Camp is an incredible opportunity to let loose while still learning and growing in a safe and nurturing setting. I am also a musician, playing various percussion instruments as well as guitar. I love using these tools to connect with others. I have served as a song leader for youth groups since attending as a teenager myself. As a professional I have worked with a wide spectrum of age groups including everything from preschool to senior adult. Lastly, with my academic and professional background in both creative writing and professional copywriting I have learned and demonstrated the value of both written and oral communication. These skills allow me to not only get messages across, but in a way that is effective and enjoyable for the recipient. I look forward to learning more about your organization and the possibility of growing together.
