LaVonne Turner, the principle Turner Communications and Event Management as well as Founder of Detroit Civic Engagement. Ms. Turner has worked with for-profit and non-profit organizations for over 30 years in California, Michigan and Canada.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Turner is a graduate of Cass Technical High School, Davenport University, with a bachelor's degree in Marketing and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. She has helped create successful marketing, public relations, and event fundraising campaigns to ensure clients meet their goals and objectives. Ms. Turner is a community advocate and is invested in helping low income and underserved populations. She has volunteered with multiple organizations in many capacities, e.g. event oversight, mentoring, and board membership. Ms. Turner’s work in healthcare, technology, entertainment, retail, and restaurant franchise provides a wonderful array skill-sets.
Turner’s community advocacy ranges from healthcare, economics, education, and addiction. She has helped brand organizations, develop marketing materials, create and manage website content, as well as develop and execute community outreach initiatives.
LaVonne is a mother of two daughter’s and one granddaughter. Her interest are community work and family time. She plans on returning to school to attain a second master’s degree in Psychology.
