I majored in Mathematics at Texas Christian University where I took mathematics courses such as Calculus I, II, and III, Linear Algebra, Higher Geometry, Statistics, and Discrete Mathematics I and II. Recently, I received my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction – Mathematics Education at The University of Texas at Arlington. My research was over the use of technology and cooperative learning in the mathematics classroom.
I have seven years of teaching experience as a math teacher where I worked with ESL students, as well as students with a variety of learning disabilities, including dyslexia and low vision, and disabilities like ADD and ADHD.
I have no greater desire than to help students grow a love for learning, and in turn, develop social, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Some of my most satisfying experiences as a teacher have come from helping struggling students to grasp difficult concepts, through a combination of individual conferences, class activities, and integration of technology. I pride myself in meeting the needs of all learners through differentiated and student-centered instruction. Given my experience successfully teaching in the classroom I know I would thrive as a tutor as I would have relatable experience. I eager to instill in others a passion for teaching. I strongly believe that it is a teacher's duty to serve his or her students and recognize that every student, given the means and opportunity, is capable of success. Thank you so much for your consideration; I look forward to hearing from you.
