Ever since I was a little girl, I appreciated performing and poetry. Theater and acting are only well-known ways to emerse your life in art, poetry, music, English, Science, Math and History. There are so many ways to perform and make an impact in someone's day just by incorporating that spark and passion in the lectures you deliver in your class, the safety meeting you deliver or the cultural initiative that you plan and implement in your office.
In college, I studied English with a Theatre background. I gained my Bachelors of Arts degree with an emphasis in Theatre at California State University of Northridge. There I developed my passion for all types of literature, art and theatre, which required dedication, knowledge, learning of skills and saftey precautions and awareness.
During my college experience, I starred in a Pre-Shakepearen period piece called The Way of the World. It required dedication to a rigorous rehearsal schedule, learning mannerisms and body movement from the period, in which required me to be corseted, use a fan like an extension of myself, and never drop my arms below my waste; as a nobel lady of the time period. I also worked on many other shows, where I wore different hats. I designed, built and broke down sets. I designed lighting and sound projects. I directed a musical. I was a stage manager. I learned how to break down a script and memorize dialogue. I also sewed my own costumes and learned the elements of sewing, costume design and the art of theatrical make-up and effects.
Eventually, my passion developed into teaching young children and incorporating performing arts in their lives and education.
Due to unforseen circumstances in the teaching industry and other opportunities, I used my passion and skills to develop and drive the culture of the employees, whom I worked with, in a transportation warehouse setting. I became passionate about driving a positive workforce with a family like setting. I became passionate about training employees in safety requirements and state-mandated procedures.
In my Transportation Logistic role, I was able to use my teaching and performing skills to train, support and empower the employees I worked with, as an office manager, cultural ambassador, dispatcher and transportation logistics router.
