Mouhamed Kaba is the son of valiant Black Immigrants from the Ivory Coast and Guinea of West-Africa. He is currently the Founder and Executive Director of the Aissetou Cisse Scholarship Fund (ACSF) at Lehman College. The scholarship supports the urgent needs of students who are undocumented or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients. The fund will finance their academic needs (i.e., tuition, school debt, fees, books, school supplies including laptop, notebooks, etc.) or non-academic needs (i.e. MetroCard, housing, childcare, and food). The longer-term goal is to expand this scholarship into a CUNY-wide endowment fund. Mouhamed is a proud alumnus of CUNY—Herbert H. Lehman College and MPA Candidate at New York University Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service (NYU Wagner). His long-term goals are to work closely with municipalities and community leaders on Immigrant inclusion through their cities economic and civic life. He continuously adheres to the African Proverb “if you want to go fast, go alone, and if you want to go far, go together”.
