Dear Join Tutors,
As a highly dedicated teacher-leader, I was excited to stumble upon your job listing on Indeed.com. My experience aligns with the qualifications you are seeking for an online tutor that works from home. I strive to be as effective as I can with instruction, and will always pursue new avenues to excel as an educator. I commit to all my students equally, and try to meet their needs with integrity and honesty. As an addition to your tutoring team, I would welcome the opportunity to help shape students' involvement with their education in a more meaningful and positive way. Wearing an enthusiastic smile is part of my everyday attire, and creative approach to bringing an atmosphere that is conducive to learning.
I have had valuable experiences inside, as well as outside the classroom. I graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2017, with a major in Philosophy and minor in History of Consciousness. During this time, I worked with a diverse array of individuals with developmental disabilities, including many with dual diagnosis through Monarch ILS, IHSS, and Care.com. Aside from the role of a care provider, I guided and taught students from a wide age range, with and without lesson plans provided. This experience led to facilitating job and academic coaching, both one-on-one and group settings, with Monarch ILS. In addition to this experience, I was a TA for freshman philosophy discussion courses at UCSC my senior year. There are various other jobs, and extracurriculars that have fulfilled my life with compassion, empathy and pedagogical strategy. Because I was part of the university's theatre program, I was lucky to be drafted onto the “Outreach Team”. Through my three year involvement, we traveled to underfunded public high schools across California to demonstrate a humanizing approach to education, and academic retention.
With earnest aspirations, aiming to empower diverse communities and individuals of various backgrounds is an intuitive drive that I am incredibly passionate about. I believe every child deserves access to their education, and online instruction has demonstrated the capability of making that possible. With patience and perspective, I genuinely try to give students a more encouraging educational foundation, so they are confident and eager to learn. I always go the extra mile to ensure students are connecting with the material.
My goal upon hire is to use the skills I currently possess, and the new ones I will gain, in order to provide an impactful and memorable experience for students to engage with their education. At the moment, I am currently applying to Law School, and work from home for Care.com, and VIP kid. I am incredibly goal oriented, and can handle any shifts necessary, especially since I have open availability. I am able to work, whether performing alone or in a team. As an employee, I find myself intensely reliable, so count on me to take on any extra roles or requirements to help as much as I can. I also have a classroom space set up, with an abundance of props and a large whiteboard because of beginning my journey with VIPKid.
I believe I would make a valuable addition as a teacher for Join Tutors. Feel free to contact me for any questions, comments, or concerns. I look forward to hearing from the team soon. Thank you so much for your consideration, as your time is greatly appreciated.
Warmest regards,
Nadia Neli Karapetian
