I hold a B.A. in English Literature and am adept at elocution instruction; this means that I am specialized in instructing students in the proper methods of both pronunciation and grammar. I am also capable of aiding foreign speakers in correcting their accents. My methods are informed by those commonly used by linguists around the world. During my university years, I read the great writers of the English language and learned the linguistics of English. Using these skills, I coached many friends, fellow students, and acquaintances from Asia in how to pronounce English words and in how to better understand English grammar. For a little over a year, I worked in China, using my skills to teach students ages 6-17 the same skills that I had taught college students. I am eager to bring my expertise in pronunciation, along with my experience teaching both foreign and ESL students, to your company. I believe that many students would benefit from having access to a teacher who can instill within them a love of the English language and an understanding of the finer points of pronunciation and grammar.
