As a dedicated educator and avid promoter of the arts, I have varied experience in tutoring and one-on-one teaching. During my graduate studies at the University of Southern California, I supported myself by tutoring undergraduate students in English and German, and taught private clarinet lessons to high school and middle school students. After graduating, I spent four years in a premier military band in Washington, D.C., where I kept an active home teaching studio. During the band's annual concert tours I had the wonderful opportunity to teach clinics and group classes in clarinet and music appreciation to various schools across the country. In addition to paid work, I have been a volunteer literacy tutor since 2012 with Reading Partners, an AmeriCorps affiliated organization that is dedicated to giving every child the opportunity to become lifelong readers. Though I cannot perform or teach in person during this current pandemic, I still love to teach online and would be a committed, enthusiastic member of the tutoring team at Join Tutors.
