I am a 2018 honors graduate of the Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences with a bachelor’s degree in Economics (major) and Rutgers Business School, minoring in Accounting and Business Administration. Prior to this, I served as the deputy Finance officer within the Financial Department of the Guyana Police Force for four (4) years (2010-2014) primarily as a Finance and Statistical analyst. While there I was responsible for the maintenance of financial records; financial reporting; cost management and budgeting which includes pension planning, research and adjustments. I was also tasked with analyzing with preparing force statistics for national and departmental decision making. In the United States I was employed for 6 months (July 2015 – January 2016) as an accounts clerk at EXL Consulting Services maintain accounts and preparing budgets records. Between September 2015 to May 2016, I was employed as a Research Assistant at the Rutgers Learning Center editing audio transcriptions and conducting data processing which required focus, attention to details and accuracy under pressure. My duties were also extended to data analysis of research done on students on academic probation. Subsequent to this, I gained employment as an English instructor at the Education Opportunity Fund and the Rutgers Future Scholars program (February 2016- May 2017) teaching critical thinking, interdisciplinary essay writing and other aspects of the English Language. Sales Associate at Macys (Aug 2017 – April 2018) performing the cashier duties and selling merchandise along with other products. For one year (June 2018- July 2019) I was employed as a financial analyst for the Autonohouse project in Guyana. As a financial analyst my responsibilities were to prepare business start up financial plan, conduct presentations with stakeholders and guide the implantation of financial strategies. My current employment is with Bank of America as a Financial Solutions Advisor conducting consumer and small business development, market research, account management and investments. I was also tasked with manage client portfolio and conduct robust market research for consumer and Small business development (which includes retirement planning- Roth IRA and Traditional IRA, investment strategy) My recent independent research was conducted on Staten Island Housing prices after hurricane Sandy. As a result, it is my belief that my combined knowledge and experience would help me to serve exceptionally in the abovementioned position.
