By the time I was in my second year as an undergrad at University of Northern Colorado, I had already started tutoring and embarking on mentor ship roles within the education field. A decade later, I now have the experience of being an undergraduate student, graduate student, certified tutor, private tutor, substitute teacher, high school teacher, and most recently a college instructor. I have taught courses in US History, World History, History of Rock and Roll, Economics, Street Law, English, Psychology, Emotional Intelligence, Ethics, Philosophy, and College Preparation courses formally. However, the role I have maintained through the past 10 years in various roles in education has been using my psychology and philosophy backgrounds to help students manage their time, solve problems, set goals, and plan and prepare to embark on becoming participatory citizens and create their own success stories while discovering who they are and engaging ethically in society. I have worked and shadowed in a variety of settings and roles including customer service, libraries, clinical psychologists, and education. In addition, I have owned multiple small businesses, and currently maintain private tutoring clients in addition to owning a small freelance photography business. My goal is to help my students learn how to build and maintain their reputation by being an upstanding citizen and professional in the community, and maintain continuity of their individuality.
