I was born in Kansas City, Missouri. My father went into the military so we moved a lot. I spent two of my high school years in Kaiserslautern High School in West Germany. After graduating from high school in Dekalb County, GA, I attended Valdosta State College for two years. I transferred home to Augusta State College after I obtained injuries from a serious car accident. I got married and was accepted into dental school. I was not able to juggle dental school and being a wife and mother, so I left MCG after 1.5 years. I was married for 19 years. I have three children, 26, 22, and 16 years of age. I home-schooled the older two children for nine years. I hope to use my degree in teaching to help equip students to overcome any obstacles and to persevere through adverse circumstances.
