I have over 16 years teaching experience which includes Adult High School, High School Equivalency (GED), English as a Second Language, and public school. The populations I have taught include adults, incarcerated individuals-youth and adult, middle school students, high school students, and 5th grade elementary school students. I taught for the past four years in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and one year in Union County Schools. I tutored 6, 7, and 8th grades at two Title I Middle Schools. I was also a math instructor for 8th grade at a K-8 school, a math instructor for 9th grade at an alternative school (Turning Point Academy), a 6th grade math instructor, and a 5th grade math instructor. I also have experience working with students in reading and writing as I help them prepare for their high school equivalency tests and to help immigrants achieve self-sufficiency and participate in American community life by understanding the English language. In addition to this, I have tutored on my own since 1995.
