I have two degrees in biology (B.S. from Grand Valley State University and M.S. from Purdue University). During college, I tutored math for four years (pre-Algebra through Calc and all K-12 levels). I was a teaching assistant during grad school for various undergrad biology courses. I meet students where they are in their understanding. Whether we need to start with foundational concepts or brush up on higher understanding, I let the student's strengths and goal guide the way I teach.
