As a 2020 graduate from the Master of Fine Arts program at Columbia University, I have a tremendous amount of empathy and respect for students of all levels pursuing their academic goals at this time. My goal is to empower people by helping them learn how to learn. What are the best strategies for success when it comes to assignments, essays, and exams? At Columbia, I taught Shakespeare to children from neighboring schools through performance. It was a pleasure to introduce them to the language in such an embodied way, especially after writing a thesis on the reception of Shakespeare in colonial Bengal. This was for a Masters in English Literature from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. While earning this degree, I privately tutored High school students and taught an Undergraduate paper on Classic texts from Chaucer to Austen to Joseph Conrad and more. I’ve helped students from ages 10 to 55 articulate their opinions on books, articles, poems, and films. I assisted the English faculty in creating bibliographies and editing research for publication. I am an experienced English language and literature tutor looking to teach online. I have over 10 years experience in teaching kids/childcare and am a bilingual (English and Bengali) speaker. I’m a passionate leader and public speaker. We’ll focus on taking control of your own skills to succeed in that assignment, college application, interview, or subject test. My travels have taught me that people of all backgrounds and skill sets are capable of excelling at whatever excites them. My job is to ignite curiosity!
