I was born and raised in Bay City, Michigan, and was the first person from my family to attend college and graduate. After graduating with my Associate Degree in Computer Science, I went to work for Fortune 50 Chemical Company. While working full-time, I attended SVSU to earn my bachelor's in business administration, and I was promoted to various positions within the company. I then decided to leave to pursue a different career path. I began teaching Computer Science courses at Delta College. I went back to school to earn my Master's in Art in Educational Technology from CMU and was promoted to Assistant and Associate Professor during my tenure. After teaching for 20 years, I decided to retire from full-time. I still currently instruct as an adjunct instructor and enjoy teaching students and watching them grow. I have also worked as a Workforce Literacy Coordinator for a non-profit organization working at Michigan Works. I tutored students working towards their GED, those needing to boost their Workkeys scores, and I started a Microsoft Certification program for clients also.
I am very energetic, organized, and easy to talk to. I am very student-centered and would like to continue to utilize my computer expertise to assist others. My teaching portfolio has included Computer Competencies, System Analysis & Design, Android App Development, Programming Logic, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, and Webpage Design. I have a Master Certification from Microsoft in all of these programs.
I hope you will be interested in allowing me to help you learn information technology to further improve your road to success. Education is key and my teaching philosophy is: "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn".
