My name is Marla and a little about myself is that I love the outdoors, traveling, and teaching children of all ages. I grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin (located in the middle of the United States) and we owned day care centers as our family business for almost 20 years. The ages ranged from 6 months to 12 years old. I also was a live-in nanny for 5 years and afterward taught pre-school in the classroom for 5 years ages 3 months-5 years old. I also coached and taught swimming lessons for 8 years from 2 years old thru adult. One of the reasons for becoming a teacher is to contribute to the community again in a meaningful way. Teaching is one of the most direct ways to make an impact, and believe if you are driven by the desire to help those around you, being a teacher is an invaluable contribution. Teaching and mentoring are something that is near to my heart and have missed it ever since I left the teaching field and can not wait to start again to make a difference.
