Sam Ventura is an engineer by mind, knowledge, and mindset. He brings efficiency, practically, and creativity into all endeavors within the audio, sound, and technological realms.
2019-2020 has brought forth great expansion creatively for Ventura. He has been working successfully as an Independent Mixing Engineer, Producer, Session Musician, Sound Technician, and Music Director. Though this has allowed him to continue to develop his mastery within the sound and audio world of technology, his focus has now shifted toward the creation of pinpoint focus; becoming an educator.
He came to this conclusion during the 2020 Winter National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Conference, where he was asked to be a panel speaker and performer on an A3E Workshop Seminar. There he discussed his designs and innovations for an In-Ear Monitor and Video Playback System that would offer independent touring musicians greater control of the challenges associated with multi-venue performance.
Ventura’s drive for precision and determination initially came from his time spent serving in the Ohio Army National Guard, where he rose to the role of Recovery Team Leader. The decision to enlist before graduating high school came from the understanding that the experience would lead to opportunities that may not have been presented to him otherwise, given his upbringing.
A single moment in time defined Sam Ventura long ago, at the age of five, when he held a guitar for the first time. Though the path was unclear, he knew that very moment that the creation and understanding of music would be his life’s ambition.
His desire to understand how and why things function, led Ventura to Kent State University, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Music Technologies. During his tenure at Kent State, he was recognized as the “go-to” student for sound engineering, the archiving of campus concerts, guitar accompaniment, and the tutoring of music theory.
Driven by his quest to equip himself with the finest skill set available, Ventura then studied at Middle Tennessee State University where he graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts in Recording Arts and Technologies; a program accepting only 9 students that year.
As demonstrated in military and academic settings and in his professional life, Sam Ventura is a collaborator and team player. His creativity, discipline, and drive have proven him to be a valued asset in any setting dedicated to harmony and the pursuit of excellence.
