Just a quick clarification: I live in Washington, D.C., but for some reason there was no option for the District of Columbia in the dropdown menu for state/province.
That being said, my origins are quite difficult to trace. I was born in Winfield, IL, moved to Philadelphia for a bit, then back to Chicago for the bulk of my formative years, then to college in Virginia, a semester abroad in Cuba, back to Philadelphia upon graduating, and now here I am in our nation's capital.
Now as for relevant information, I have been tutoring since my freshman year of high school. I started out just working with kids in the neighborhood, but eventually branched out to other subdivisions and school districts. This was all through word of mouth; I didn't begin to advertise my services online until about a year ago. I have always tutored at my students' homes, and strive to make things as convenient as possible for them and their families.
Most recently, I homeschooled a seven-year old boy with autism in Bethesda, MD, for about two months. I worked three to four hours a day (depending on how focused he was on that particular day), six days a week. It was by far the most rewarding professional experience I've ever had the pleasure of undertaking. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity. Unfortunately, everything is temporary, and his parents have since restructured the program. COVID-19 has not made things easy for anyone.
I don't plan on letting that stop me from helping students reach their full potential! A lifetime of learning, after all, requires diligence across all obstacles.
