I come from a family of educators. My mother, father, and brother all retired from education. I earned a degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in Psychology and began a Masters level program in Counseling. After working in a prison for 3 years I changed my course of employment and decided to become a teacher. I returned to High Point University to obtain my teaching certification in Special Education. I was an EC teacher for 11 years, an assistant principal for 2 years, and have been a principal for 10 years. I am currently a principal for a separate school for students with disabilities.
