Today’s educational environment is changing. This simple fact leads to the complex situation that all of its players need to change too. In short, today’s students are diverse and are inclined to seeek good service or more from their respective college educators. This transition is fueled by the rise of online learning and its impact. Thereby, a good college educator should embrace these values. My career history and talents magnetized me into this direction.
A review of my resume shows both interest and skill in teaching general education online courses for secondary schools, colleges and universities that seek experienced online course developers, instructors or tutors. Currently, I teach history and government courses for Northwest State Community College and Spring Arbor University respectively. I have previously taught for Ashford University; social science courses for Le Cordon Bleu; Contemporary World Culture for ITT-Tech and political science courses for Spring Arbor University. In addition, I re-designed Political Science 214 (State & Local Government) for Spring Arbor. Moreover, I taught online introductory psychology, sociology and political science courses for Tiffin University. My online teaching experience includes designing and teaching Civics course for Stautzenberger College and World History for Bellevue University. I also evaluated and edited approved online courses for these respective institutions. Moreover, I am versed in the Moodle, Angel, Blackboard, Canvas, Sakai and e-College platforms
My teaching career is diverse. After teaching in public schools for several years, I acquired an MA in history from The University of Toledo (June 1992). Since then I worked extensively in higher education. Along the way my teaching ventures included teaching history, college orientation, civics, economics, psychology, sociology, geography, written communication and oral communication courses. Among the colleges and universities I taught at include: The University of Toledo, Owens Community College, Lourdes College, Monroe County Community College, Davis College, Tiffin University, Stautzenberger College and Spring Arbor University.
Besides the MA in history, I earned a comprehensive social studies secondary teaching license (7-12) from the State of Ohio, a BA in history/ sociology and 30 graduate hours in Geography & Planning from the University of Toledo. The overall effect of these experiences created an educator who sees himself as a person who serves in expanding the knowledge and skills of students. As a result, I am sensitive to the needs of the diverse student populations that populate your services
